PUTRID YELL Consuming Aberration LP

Consuming Aberration may only be Putrid Yell’s debut album, but these Chileans are here to show us that death is timeless! The band’s history of over a decade means that most of the 10 songs have appeared on various splits in the past, though their piecemeal construction doesn’t prevent the entire 37 minutes from sounding like a single experience. The nature of that experience gropes back even further to the start of the ‘90s, when maniacal scientists from Sweden were experimenting with HM-2 pedals, giving Putrid Yell that distinctive Nihilist or Dismember vibe of avalanching madness. Couple that to the chaotic raw style that has ruled over South American metal since a similar period, and in Consuming Aberration you have a rabid, sinister concoction of avowedly classic extremity.
