CALLOUS MASTER S/T LP/CD/DIGITAL OUT NOW!

“Callous Master” consists of six compositions that clock in at thirty-five minutes of music. The Irishmen take the listener back almost forty years, to the times when bands like Morbid were taking their first steps and releasing “December Moon,” while four hundred kilometres away Mayhem was putting out “Deathcrush,” and in Central Europe the first foundations of the sounds you can hear on “Anno Domini” or “The Mass” were being laid. These are my first associations with this music, though of course you can find many more references here. Callous Master reminds us of the times when black metal was not yet a standalone genre and mixed many influences drawn from death metal or thrash metal, as well as the eternal influence of Mercyful Fate, to which a strong element of something unknown – evil and ominous – has been added. That is exactly how this album appears to me – as the essence of the sounds being born in the underground of the 1980s."
